Study of how court-imposed fines and fees affect people, especially working families/those in poverty. Explores the scale of fines and fees; their impacts in areas such as housing, food security, employment, childcare, health, and transportation; patterns across race, income, presence of children, marital status, and political affiliation; and how people interact with the court system to understand and attempt to resolve their fines and fees.
