by COSSUP & National Criminal Justice Training Center
The second installment of the Empowering Reentry for Tribal Communities: Addressing Post-Incarceration, Treatment, Mental Health, and Alcohol and Substance Misuse for Successful Reintegration series discusses the importance of fostering community reconnection and resilience as a pivotal strategy when working with American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) populations impacted by substance use and mental health challenges. Highlights the effects of trauma, offers solutions to resource constraints, and poses critical questions for supporting AI/AN people as they transition back into their communities post-incarceration.
