Strengthening Community Supervision: What Works in Reducing Recidivism, How to Do It, and Why It Matters

April 30, 2025

We heard directly from seasoned practitioners on the current challenges and opportunities within the field of community supervision.

On April 30, 2025, from 1 p.m. ET, the CSRC held a webinar on strengthening community supervision.

In this Q&A-style webinar, leaders from the American Probation and Parole Association (APPA) and the National Association of Pretrial Services Agencies (NAPSA) shared their insights alongside experienced practitioners. Together, the panel explored how agencies tackle recidivism challenges, integrate evidence-based practices, and support supervision officers. They covered topics like job satisfaction, artificial intelligence, and the recently updated community supervision standards from APPA and NAPSA.
