Jails and Justice Support Center Launches
by mbreault@cepp.com
The Justice Department, through the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and the National Institute of Corrections, has launched the Jails and Justice Support Center (JJSC), a first-of-its-kind initiative to bring together innovative policies, strategies, promising practices and resources to help in the management of jails nationwide.
The JJSC is an online resource that will serve as a national hub for information, training, and resources supporting the state and local agencies that operate America’s jails. It will cover the core topics and key areas of policy, practice, and culture that support a constitutionally sound foundation for administering a jail, with the ultimate goal of improving outcomes for all who live, work in, and visit our nation’s jails.
“The Jails and Justice Support Center, developed in close collaboration with stakeholders who operate jails, plays a pivotal role in the Bureau of Justice Assistance’s commitment to delivering direct and impactful assistance to the criminal justice field. Sheriffs, jail administrators, county leaders, and other stakeholders nationwide will reap the benefits of information, resources, and technical assistance designed to address the specific needs and challenges faced by jails today.” – BJA Director Karhlton F. Moore
Visit the JJSC website to learn more about how the center assists jails in creating safe, humane, and effective environments for their populations.
