Request for Workshop Proposals for NAPSA 2025

by   CSRC

NAPSA is now accepting workshop proposals for the 52nd Annual Conference and Training Institute to be held in Atlanta, Georgia at the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel from September 14-17, 2025.

Workshop proposal deadline is February 7, 2025.

The NAPSA Conference and Training Institute provides participants with the opportunity to review the foundations of pretrial, learn the latest research findings, hear about the implementation of legal and evidence-based practices, and understand current opportunities available to those working in the field. The goal of each workshop should be to provide attendees with information, tools, or action items they can implement in their own jurisdictions. Conference attendees include pretrial services and diversion program staff, judges, prosecutors, defense counsel, law enforcement, advocacy organizations and policy makers.

The Conference will host over sixty, 50-minute workshops during the conference. We recognize some topics require more than 50 minutes; therefore, the conference will feature two types of workshops: Regular, which will run for 50 minutes, and Extended, which will run for two 50-minute sessions. We may also repeat some workshops on multiple days. All proposals will be reviewed by the NAPSA Education Committee which will select those that best meet attendee needs to provide information that is relevant, practical, and enables attendees to build skills, increase competencies and enhance pretrial justice in their communities.

Preference will be given to proposals incorporating adult learning principles in their methodology (i.e., exercises, audience participation, action planning) or that present new research findings. Workshops that highlight the successful implementation of legal and evidence-based pretrial practices in a particular jurisdiction or series of jurisdictions should also address how those practices can be implemented in other jurisdictions. Each workshop should allow time for questions and answers.

Please note that NAPSA does not pay fees, travel, or hotel costs, or waive conference registration fees for workshop presenters. Conference registration fees are not required for presenters who are present only for their own workshop. Reduced conference registration fees are available to presenters attending workshops or other events other than the workshop they are presenting.
