Join the APPA Training and Accreditation Committee

APPA

APPA is seeking volunteers to serve on its Training and Accreditation Committee. This committee is primarily responsible for reviewing the curricula (eLearning offerings) of APPA’s partner entities to ensure they align with APPA’s standards and meet the threshold for accreditation. The committee also reviews APPA’s online learning offerings and provides feedback to the Professional Development Manager.

Those interested in serving on this committee should:

  • Have a background in training, education, professional development, etc.
  • Be willing to learn and implement the committee’s standards for developing a tool to approve/accredit agency’s educational and training content
  • Have previous/current work experience in community corrections (pretrial, probation and/or parole)
  • Be familiar with basic curriculum development and adult education concepts
  • Be a current good standing APPA member

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review training modules, ensuring information is relevant and timely
  • Help in the creation of new training and materials · Produce and update rubrics and assessment tools
  • Work with APPA staff on the development and implementation of an accreditation program based on APPA’s Standards
  • Review requests from other organizations for accreditation hours (APPA Contact Hours)
  • Identify needed CEUs in the field and assist in acquiring them
